A Fall From Grace (2020)
An American Legal thriller, the story centres around Grace Waters (Crystal Fox), a middle-aged woman, fresh out of a divorce. Lonely and vulnerable, she happens to meet a young(er) man Shannon DeLong (Mehcad Brooks). Soon they fall in love and get married. Grace feels that she is at the happiest part of her life until she realizes that Shannon is not what she believed him to be. He is unfaithful and cruel to her. One night when she finds him with another woman, she knocks him down the staircase in a fit of rage. Believing him to be dead, she flees the home and calls her best friend Sarah Miller (Phylicia Rashad) confessing that she murdered him. However, his body is nowhere to be seen. Arrested and on trial for the murder of her husband, Grace is assigned lawyer Jasmine Bryant (Bresh Webb). An upright rookie lawyer, Jasmine reluctantly takes up the case. During the trial, Grace – Sarah’s telephonic conversations convince the jury that Grace is the murderer and sentence her to prison. Jasmine is convinced that Grace is innocent. A chance visit to Sarah’s home reiterates her belief and Jasmine unravels a sinister plot from Grace’s own inner circle.
